Run-A-Muk 5k/10k

Saturday, August 24, 2019 - 8:00 am - Rosehill Community Center

8:00 - 10k runners/walkers start with runners lining up according to their expected pace (rabbits up front, turtles and runners with strollers in the back).   Be sure to pin your timing chip at approximately waist/hip height and to wear your bib on the FRONT of your outermost layer for an accurate time.

8:10 - 5k runners/walkers start with runners lining up according to their expected pace (rabbits up front, turtles and runners with strollers in the back).   Be sure to pin your timing chip at approximately waist/hip height and to wear your bib on the FRONT of your outermost layer for an accurate time.  .

NOTE:  ONLY SINGLE WIDTH STROLLERS are allowed on this course due to route restrictions.  Those lining up with double width strollers will be asked to remain at the Start/Finish line to cheer in the runners rather than participate in the event.

The 10k and 5k routes are roughly the same for about 1.6 miles as you head out through "Old Town" before traveling a wide coned shoulder for about .5 mile before turning into a quiet neighborhood.  No big surprises on this part of the route.  Just a some gentle inclines until right before the route splits where you'll have about 3 blocks of a hill that you can brag about later.  The 5k will head back towards the Finish Line from here.  You'll find a hydration station at 2 miles.

The 10k continues along the coned shoulder for another .4 mile before climbing a short hill into another quiet neighborhood.  You're going to love the fast down hill on the back of this one!  You'll find your first water station at the turnaround point at 2.9 miles and then you'll retrace your steps in and out of the neighborhoods with another hydration station at 4.6 miles.  The final stretch includes the best views of the day as you enjoy a fast downhill before climbing back up towards Old Town and the Finish Line.

NOTE:  The elevation profiles below are a bit exaggerated.  I've run both of these courses more than I can count and while they aren't flat they certainly don't have the extreme changes you see here.  I promise!
